The white cross
The 4 white edges around the white center, lined up with the side centers.

Hold the cube with the yellow center on top. Bring the 4 white edges around that yellow center: that’s the “daisy” (a yellow heart, four white petals). No algorithm here: find a white edge, put it under a free spot and bring it up.
Then, for each petal: turn the top (U) until the edge’s side color is above the center of the same color. Then do a half turn of that face (F2 if it’s in front): the edge drops into place.
Once all 4 edges are down, flip the cube over: the white cross is on the bottom… and the rest of the method is done with white on the bottom and yellow on top.
Remember: Check the cross from the sides: each edge’s second color must line up with the neighboring center. A “pretty” white cross that’s misaligned is useless.
The cases
- Daisy: edge in the middle, white facing you: R. The white edge is in the middle layer, on the right, white facing you. Check that the spot above it (right of the yellow center) is free, otherwise turn U. Then R brings it up, white on top.
- Daisy: edge in the middle, white on the side: F'. The white edge is in the middle layer, on the right, white facing right. The spot in front of the yellow center must be free (turn U if needed): F' brings it up, white on top.
- Daisy: edge on the bottom, white facing down: F2. The white edge is on the bottom face, white facing down. Free up the spot right above it with U, then a half turn F2 brings it up.
- Daisy: edge on the bottom, white on the side: F' U' R. The white edge is on the bottom at the front, white facing you. F' brings it back into the middle layer, U' moves the finished petals out of the way, then R brings it up on the right.
- Daisy: edge on top, white on the side: F U' R. The edge is already on top but the white faces you. F takes it down to the middle, U' protects the other petals, then R brings it back up the right way.
- Bring a daisy edge down: F2. The white edge is on top, its side color lined up with the front center: a half turn of F sends it to the bottom.
Troubleshooting
- An edge of the daisy disappears
- Before bringing an edge up, turn U so the spot above it is free. Otherwise the move knocks out a petal you already placed.
- The cross is done but the sides don’t line up
- Before each F2, turn U until the edge’s side color is above the center of the same color. If it’s already wrong, just redo the daisy.
- I can’t find my case
- Look where the white edge is: top, middle or bottom, and which way the white faces. The animated cases just above cover all these positions.
