Orienting the yellow corners

Twist the corners in place to finish the cube.

Keyboard: Enter to continue, ← to go back. Keep your hands on the cube.

Hold the cube with yellow on top and put a twisted corner front-right. Do R' D' R D in pairs (2 or 4 times) until that corner has yellow on top.

The bottom of the cube gets scrambled: that’s normal. Whatever you do, don’t turn the whole cube. Only turn the top (U) to bring the next corner front-right, and start again.

When all the corners have yellow on top, one last U and the cube is solved.

Remember: This is the step where people panic the most. Remember: only turn U between two corners, never the whole cube.

The cases

  • Twist the corners in place: R' D' R D R' D' R D U R' D' R D R' D' R D R' D' R D R' D' R D U'. R' D' R D in pairs until the front-right corner has yellow on top, then U to bring in the next one. The bottom gets scrambled along the way: that’s normal, it fixes itself at the end.

Troubleshooting

The bottom of my cube is all scrambled
That’s normal in the middle of this step. Keep going: once all the yellow corners are twisted, the bottom fixes itself.
The cube is ruined after I turned the whole cube
Between two corners, only turn U, never the whole cube. If it happened, start again from step 2: it’s the classic trap, not a failure.
I lost count of how many times I did R' D' R D
Don’t count: just watch the front-right corner and repeat in pairs until its yellow is on top.
