The yellow cross, at a glance

You already know these three algorithms: they’re the ones from step 4 of the beginner method. The difference is recognition speed.
Look only at the top edges, not the corners. Line: hold it horizontal. L: hold it back-left. Dot: the dot algorithm chains them in one go.
Practice with the timer’s “Last layer” scrambles: you only see cases to recognize.
Remember: The dot uses f (lowercase): the front face and the middle slice together. The player shows it in slow motion.
The cases
- Line: F R U R' U' F'. Horizontal yellow line, from left to right.
- L: F U R U' R' F'. Two yellow edges in an L, at the back and on the left.
- Dot: F R U R' U' F' f R U R' U' f'. No yellow edge, only the center.
Troubleshooting
- I get a vertical line
- Turn U once before the algorithm: the line must be horizontal, left to right.
